The Global Network of National IP Practitioner Associations (The Global Network, GNIPA) was established in 2010.
Forty representatives of fourteen national and eight international associations met to discuss the need for a global organisation bringing together the leading practitioner associations from around the world.
The aim of The Global Network is to bring key international IP issues directly to the grass roots – the attorneys themselves.

The Global Network provides a forum for national IP associations to come together and share best practice.
The Global Network provides education, facilitates communication and fosters collaboration across national IP associations.
Despite bringing together some of the most eminent thought leaders in the world of IP, the Global Network does not involve itself in advocacy and lobbying, as there will always be potential conflicts of interest in such a diverse group of people.
Through the sharing of experiences and by learning from each other, the Global Network ensures that national IP associations are well-placed to be able to lobby on behalf of their individual members or constituents.
